About AL JAMIA NAJMUL HUDA AL ISLAMIYA

Al Jamia Najmul Huda Al Islamiya is a pioneering educational institution, equipped with modern facilities and dedicated to providing an outstanding environment for memorizing the Holy Qur’an and studying Islamic sciences across various fields and programs. It keeps pace with contemporary advancements without compromising traditional values and strives to instill moral principles while fostering a spirit of religious commitment and preaching among students.

The establishment and development of the university

Al Jamia Najmul Huda Al Islamiya was established in 1402 AH (1982 CE) by the esteemed philanthropist Haji P.A. Ibrahim, inspired by the guidance of Sheikh Musa Al-Kanjari, a prominent Tablighi Jamaat leader in Kerala. Their meeting in Dubai marked a turning point in Haji Ibrahim’s life, leading to the founding of an institution devoted to Islamic education and the preservation of faith.

After a thoughtful search, the village of Vettekkode, near Manjeri in Kerala, India, was chosen. At the time, the region faced intense missionary activity led by a former Islamic scholar who had converted to Christianity. The establishment of the university was a determined response to uphold and protect Islamic values in the area.

Starting humbly with just 25 students and teachers, the institution grew steadily into a respected center of higher Islamic learning. Today, it includes:

• Qur’an Memorization College (Hifz) – Boys
• Qur’an Memorization College – Girls
• Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies
• Faculty of Tajweed and Qira’at
• Postgraduate Faculty in Islamic Jurisprudence

Now home to over 500 male and female students, the 16-acre campus houses four major academic buildings and continues to expand.

By the grace of Allah and continued dedication, Al Jamia Najmul Huda Al Islamiya has become a beacon of authentic Islamic education, producing scholars who serve the Nation across religious, educational, and social fields. As it marks over four decades of service, it remains firmly committed to its mission of nurturing faith, preserving tradition, and guiding future generations.

Our Founder's Words

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. May peace and blessings be upon the noblest of Messengers, and upon his family and companions.

Indeed, Islamic Shari'ah places great emphasis on the importance of knowledge. It is knowledge that rescues a person from misguidance and leads him to the straight path. It is the cure for ignorance and illiteracy. There is no path to true societal progress except through education—its benefits extend beyond the individual to uplift the entire community.

Based on this principle, this university was established to serve as a lasting source of knowledge—a spring to which every seeker returns, and from which every thirsty soul draws. Our goal is to equip the younger generation with both Islamic and contemporary sciences, to nurture them with strong morals and values, and to graduate righteous scholars—armed with knowledge and faith—ready to face the challenges of the time and spread across the globe to convey the true teachings of Islam.

Indeed, scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets, and da‘wah (calling to Allah) is among the greatest aims of Prophethood. A scholar does not truly fulfill his duty unless he takes up this mission with excellence and sincerity.

I ask Allah to accept this humble effort from me, to make it sincerely for His noble sake, to grant this institution acceptance and longevity, and to fulfill the noble goals for which it was founded. He alone is our source of help, and upon Him we rely.
